Militant gunfire and grenade attacks in Kunar injure local citizens Posted: 09 Jun 2009 01:38 PM PDT KABUL, Afghanistan – Several Afghan civilians were wounded and another reportedly killed in an attack in Kunar province that also wounded 3 U.S. servicemembers. The attack occurred at approximately 9:15 a.m. local time.

HMS Portland intercepts, disarms pirates Posted: 02 Jun 2009 08:34 AM PDT HMS PORTLAND, At Sea (June 2, 2009) — This afternoon, while conducting counterpiracy operations in the Gulf of Aden as part of Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) Task Force 151, the Royal Navy Type 23 Frigate HMS Portland (F 79) detected, intercepted and boarded two suspicious skiffs preventing a possible pirate attack.
