Col. Ralph Peters, the New York Post columnist and terrorism expert, warns of a new Muslim crusade against African Christians in an op-ed today. He writes, “The bombings that recently butchered World Cup fans in Uganda were just the latest in a long line of crazed attacks on African Christians by Islamist fanatics.
In the central states of Nigeria—Africa’s most-populous country—religious pogroms and counter-pogroms between Muslims and Christians have become routine.”
As I wrote in this space last week, the Somali pirates are accumulating a war chest for massacres of African Christians. Western governments’ efforts to stop them are cosmetic, and the rules of engagement imposed on American forces in the region are almost as restrictive as those that apply to American policemen dealing with ordinary criminals. The defense ministries of the West, including the Pentagon, concede that it’s cheaper to pay off the pirates than to suppress them—cheaper, that is, in African lives.
This is shameful. The fact that many poor Somalis have turned to piracy does not justify a criminal activity in support of murderous terrorism. The way to stop piracy is to kill pirates. “Millions for defense, not one cent for tribute” was America’s response to the Barbary pirates at the turn of the 19th century. Nothing less will do. Again, my proposal is to issue Letters of Marque to privateers. Gen. Petraeus knows how to recruit mercenaries; he hired 100,000 of them into the “Sunni Awakening” in Iraq. His talents are lost on Afghanistan. Assign him to clean up the Indian Ocean instead.

Despite rumors of war earlier this year, it doesn’t currently look like Israel is about to launch a preemptive strike against Iran this summer, despite the fact that Iran is dangerously close to getting nuclear weapons.
Anything is possible, of course, but many people are wondering why Netanyahu hasn’t hit the mullahs and their atomic program already. The main reason, I believe, is that evangelical Christians around the world are praying for the peace of Jerusalem according to Psalm 122:6, and the Lord is staving off war in the epicenter for now. In that context, there are several interesting geopolitical dynamics worth considering.
“Why hasn’t Israel bombed Iran yet?” asks Wall Street Journal editorial writer Bret Stephens in a column earlier this week. “It’s a question I often get from people who suppose I have a telepathic hotline to Benjamin Netanyahu’s brain. I don’t, but for a long time I was confident that an attack would happen in the first six months of this year. Since it didn’t, it’s worth thinking through why.” Stephens is a former editor for the Jerusalem Post and a solid Mideast analyst. His take is worth considering.
Meanwhile, Time magazine’s Joe Klein has written a column this week suggesting the military option against Iran is back on the table inside the Obama administration. Not entirely sure I agree with his take, but it’s worth noting.

Disturbing trend in Turkey, Jordan as well
Rep. Frank Wolf of Virginia and other Members of Congress should be congratulated for holding a hearing last Thursday on “human rights and religious freedom in Morocco.” Wolf held the hearing with Rep. Chris Smith (NJ), Rep. Joe Pitts (PA), Rep. Trent Franks (AZ) and Rep. Anh “Joseph” Cao (LA) to explore the reasons for and possible remedies related to the expulsion from Morocco this year of more than 40 U.S. and European evangelical Christians without written charges or due process. Many of these Christian workers have lived and worked in the kingdom for years, running schools, orphanages and other NGOs aimed at blessing the lives of the people of Morocco in the name of Jesus. Several of those recently expelled testified at the hearing, as did other experts on religious freedom and observers of Morocco.
As I first wrote in this space back in April, I am deeply concerned that Morocco — one of my favorite Reformer countries in the epicenter — has reversed course and is now moving in the wrong direction on the issue of human rights and religious freedom. Turkey and Jordan are also moving decidely in the wrong direction. What is happening and why? We will discuss some of this at the 2010 Epicenter Conference this weekend. Please keep praying for believers in all of these countries and throughout the region to be strong and courageous. Please also pray for open doors for our brothers and sisters to be able to go back into Morocco and continue showing the unconditional love of Jesus Christ to the dear people of that special country.

ARAB SUPPORTING MILITARY STRIKE ON IRAN

(Philadelphia, PA, June 24, 2010) — An intriguing new survey of international public opinion indicates deep concern over the mullahs in Iran obtaining nuclear weapons, and strong support for preemptive military action to stop Tehran from getting the Bomb. According to the Pew Research Center’s Global Attitudes Project 2010….
* In 16 of the 22 states included in the survey, people who were polled said they would support preemptive military strikes against Iran to prevent the mullahs from obtaining nuclear weapons compared to avoiding a military conflict with Iran, even if that means allowing the mullahs to have nuclear weapons.
* In the U.S., 66% support a military strike on Iran, compared to 24% who object.
* In France, 59% support a military strike, compared to 41% who object.
* In Germany, 51% support a military strike, compared to 39% who object.
* In Great Britain, 48% support a military strike, compared to 37% who object.
* In Egypt, 55% support a military strike, compared to 16% who object.
* In Jordan, 53% support a military strike, compared to 20% who object.
* In Lebanon 44% support a military strike, compared to 37% who object.
* In Brazil, 53% support a military strike, compared to 33% who object.
* However, in Turkey, only 29% support a military strike, compared 37% who object and would allow Iran to get nuclear weapons.
That said, I don’t forsee a U.S. or NATO preemptive strike to stop Iran from getting the Bomb, especially with General David Petraeus moving from CENTCOM commander to running the war in Afghanistan.
Will Israel launch a strike? That remains to be seen, but if Netanyahu orders one, don’t expect these poll numbers to hold up. International public opinion would likely turn decisively against Israel in such a conflict.

The oil spill in the Gulf is a painful reminder that you don’t wait until disaster happens before creating a credible plan of action to prevent it.
Those, like ABC News, who would belittle Oklahoma for passing an amendment banning sharia law clearly aren’t paying attention to sharia’s equivalent of an “oil spill” in Britain.
A new report (see story below) released by One Law for All on the status of sharia law in Britain documents just how bad the situation there has become.
Had Britain taken pre-emptive action as Oklahoma has, the cancer that is sharia law would not be eating away at Britain’s legal framework. A firewall would have been in place to prevent this from happening. Ironically, in the name of tolerance for Muslims, Britain now allows sharia discrimination against Muslim women and children.

“Sharia Law in Britain: A Threat to One Law for All and Equal Rights”
A new report by One Law for All has found Sharia Councils and Muslim Arbitration Tribunals to be in violation of UK law, public policy and human rights (see report here).
The report is being launched to coincide with a 20 June 2010 rally on the issue of Sharia law. Based on an 8 March 2010 Seminar on Sharia Law, research, interviews, and One Law for All case files, the report has identified a number of problem areas:
- Sharia law’s civil code is arbitrary and discriminatory against women and children in particular. With the rise in the acceptance of Sharia courts, discrimination is being further institutionalised with some UK law firms additionally offering clients advice on Sharia law and the use of collaborative law.
- Sharia law is practiced in Britain primarily by Sharia Councils and Muslims Arbitration Tribunals. Both operate on religious principles and are harmful to women although Muslim Arbitration Tribunals are wrongly regarded as being of more concern because they operate as tribunals under the Arbitration Act 1996, making their rulings binding in law.
- Sharia Councils, on the other hand, claim to mediate on family issues but in practice often this differs little from arbitration: they frequently ask those appearing before them to sign an agreement to abide by their decisions; they call themselves courts, and the presiding imams, judges. Their decisions are then imposed and regarded as having the weight of legal judgements.
- There is neither control over the appointment of “judges” in Sharia Councils or Tribunals nor an independent mechanism for monitoring them. Clients often do not have access to legal advice and representation. The proceedings are not recorded, nor are there any searchable legal judgements, nor any real right of appeal.
- Sharia law cannot be compared to secular legal systems because it is considered sacred law that cannot be challenged. There is no scope to look at the interests of the individuals involved, as required by UK family law.
- These legal processes ignore both common law and due process, far less Human Rights, and provide little protection and safety for women in violent situations.
- There is a general assumption that those who attend Sharia courts do so voluntarily and that unfair decisions can be challenged in a British court. Many of the principles of Sharia law are contrary to British law and public policy, and would in theory therefore be unlikely to be upheld in a British court. In reality, however, women are often pressured by their families into going to these courts and adhering to unfair decisions, and may lack knowledge of English and their rights under British law. Moreover, refusal to settle a dispute in a Sharia court can give rise to threats and intimidation, or at best being ostracised.
According to Maryam Namazie, spokesperson of the One Law for All Campaign and an author of the report, “The existence of a parallel legal system that is denying a large section of the British population their fundamental human rights is scandalous. Our findings show that it is essential to abolish all religious courts in the UK. Their very existence and legitimisation puts pressure on vulnerable women not to assert their civil rights in a British court. As long as Sharia Councils and Tribunals are allowed to continue to make rulings on issues of family law, women will be pressured into accepting decisions which are prejudicial to them and their children.”
The report recommends that Sharia courts be closed on the grounds that they work against rather than for equality, and are incompatible with human rights. Recommendations include:
- initiating a Human Rights challenge to Muslim Arbitration Tribunals and/or Sharia Councils
- amending the Arbitration Act under which the Muslim Arbitration Tribunals operate in a similar way to which the Canadian equivalent of the Arbitration Act was amended in 2005 to exclude religious arbitration
- launching a major and nationwide helpline and information campaign to inform people of their rights under British law
- proposing legislation under the EU Citizens Rights Initiative to address the issue EU-wide, and
- strengthening secularism and the separation of religion from the state, the judicial system and education, in order to more fully protect citizenship rights.

Dear AMERICA,
As we near the end of our petition drive opposing the “ground zero mosque” (we now have over 46,000 names!), some ACT! for America chapter leaders and members have asked us what we plan to do next.
Thus far, Mayor Michael Bloomberg and nearly all of the members of the Community Board 1 have turned a deaf ear to New Yorkers and families of 9/11 victims.
With our petition, we will get the Mayor’s attention.
But there is more we can do to make our petition even more effective.
NOW, from all across America, we need thousands of phone calls raining down on his office, and thousands of emails pouring into his inbox!
We need to send a clear message:
| “Dear Mayor Bloomberg,
We appeal to you, on behalf of the thousands of family members of victims of 9/11, to reverse your position and urge Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf to locate his mosque somewhere other than at “Ground Zero.” Imam Rauf’s writings and public statements make it clear that he believes in the same sharia law that motivated the 9/11 jihadists. This we find unacceptable. 9/11 was an attack against ALL Americans not just New York City. Your decision represents and affects us ALL. Should you choose not to reverse your position regarding this mosque, please understand that we will take this personally and we will take our tourist and business dollars elsewhere! (Nashville, Tennessee, March 1, 2010) — This morning, a colleague and I will meet Mosab Hassan Yousef, the son of the founder and leader of the Hamas terrorist movement, for coffee. Later, I will have the joy of introducing Mosab to participants of the National Religious Broadcasters convention here in Nashville when I address the group at the “International Luncheon.”
My remarks are entitled, “Israel, The Iran Threat, and Modern Day Lessons From The Book of Esther.” I believe the Lord is building a global movement of followers of Jesus Christ who will pray and fast for the Lord to save and bless Israel, the Palestinians, Iran and all the peoples of the epicenter. And just as the Lord had strategically positioned two believers – Mordechai and Esther – close to the leader of Persia to do His will at “such a time as this,” so, too, the Lord placed Mosab right next to the leader of Hamas to serve Christ at a critical moment.
Beginning in 1996, Mosab became a spy for Israel’s secret service, helping the Israelis to stop scores of terrorist attacks and arrest scores of terrorists from Hamas and other Palestinian jihadist groups. In 2005, after a long spiritual journey, Mosab renounced Islam, received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord, and was baptized in the Mediterranean sea.The extraordinary story of how this all happened is the basis of Mosab’s must-read new book, Son of Hamas (co-written by journalist Ron Brackin), which releases nationwide on Tuesday, March 2.

According to the WorldNetDaily story below, the video is a “training video” filmed at the Muslims of America headquarters in Hancock, NY, and provided by an “unnamed law enforcement source.”

A new video released by the Christian Action Network shows Muslim women at a compound in New York state practicing throat-slitting techniques and assault weapons attacks.
The video was distributed by the makers of the movie “Homegrown Jihad: The Terrorist Camps Around the U.S.,” which documents how a jihadist group has developed dozens of training camps across the nation.
WND reported at the time how Jamaat ul-Fuqra has built 35 compounds – mostly in the northeastern corridor of the U.S.
Now the organization has posted on YouTube a “chilling” training video provided to CAN by an unnamed law enforcement source about the Muslims of America headquarters in Hancock, New York.
Muslims of America reportedly is the name Jamaat ul-Fuqra, believed to have been involved in the beheading of reporter Daniel Pearl, uses in the U.S.
The video includes segments of training exercises in which one person appears to practice a maneuver that would slit the throat of a victim. There are episodes of what appears to be automatic weapons fire at a target and incidents in which a handgun is held point-blank at a “victim’s” head:
The video shows women marching in military formation, scaling walls, engaging in hand-to-hand combat and also reveals a Muslim confirming that the organization’s own census revealed that Muslims are a majority in the United States and they are claiming it as their own.

The speaker states, “We are 100 percent sure that Muslims are the majority in America.”
He continues, “Our Islamic political party has based its manifesto on this fact. We want to declare once and for all that America is our country.”
According to CAN, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in 2005 warned about Jamaat ul-Fuqra, a Pakistani-based organization that “had the capacity to attack” America.
The U.S. State Department’s 1998 “Patterns of Global Terrorism” report notes the organization “seeks to purify Islam through violence.”
The report continued, “Members have purchased isolated rural compounds in North America to live communally, practice their faith and insulate themselves from Western culture. Fuqra members have attacked a variety of targets that they view as enemies of Islam.”
CAN, led by Martin Mawyer, has researched Muslims of America for years and has provided its video to the FBI, State Department and Homeland Security.
To date, there has been no response from the government, the group said.
Mawyer told WND the political correctness America has adopted ultimately will be costly.

The hands of law enforcement and investigators are tied at this point, he said, because members of the organization are part of “a minority religion,” “they are African-American” “and in this particular case, are women.”
“Gilani has stated he is preparing his members to the Soldiers of Allah, and he’s set up the most advanced guerrilla warfare training camps,” he said. “He’s being true to his word.
“If the evidence is right in front of our face and we have the words from the leader,” Mawyer said. “I don’t know how we continue to close our eyes and be blinded by such obvious affront to American values, the Constitution and our way of life.”
The organization’s “Homegrown Jihad” video includes a chilling scene of Jamaat ul-Fuqra’s leader Sheikh Mubarak Gilani telling followers to “act like you’re his friend. Then kill him.”
According to the Religion of Peace website, there have been more than 250 jihad attacks by Muslims around the globe – including two inside the U.S. – in just the last two months.
The death toll from the attacks has surpassed 1,400, the report says.

Second Graders Told to Sing “Allah is God”
Dear AMERICA,
What would happen if public school second graders were told to sing a Christmas song that proclaimed “Jesus is Lord?”
Or what would happen if those same students were told to sing “We pray ‘til night to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob?”
The fact is, we don’t have to speculate, because neither of those things is likely to happen in any public school in America.
So how is it that a public elementary school principal and some teachers saw nothing objectionable with their students singing “Allah is God?”
Their answer—they were just trying to teach “inclusiveness.” See the Fox News Radio story below (highlights added).
And when a Christian parent objected, a spokesman for the Muslim Alliance of Indiana called the objection “Islamophobic.”
So simply objecting to a song in a public school that proclaims “Allah is God,” when no other faiths are so recognized, is “Islamophobic?”
Wow.
We have reached the point where a non-Muslim parent is called an “Islamophobe” for simply and rightfully objecting to his child being forced to sing a song in public school that proclaims “Allah is God.”
Please don’t let anyone tell you we’re over-reacting to the threat of political correctness and the advance of radical Islam.
CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, has been a national leader in the ongoing public relations campaign to tar critics of radical Islam as “Islamophobes.”

A battle over religion is brewing in central Indiana after a public school wanted second graders to sing a song declaring, “Allah is God.” The phrase was removed just before the performance after a national conservative group launched a protest.
The principal of Lantern Road Elementary School in Fishers, IN, said they were trying to teach inclusiveness through their holiday production. It included references to Christmas, Hanukkah, Ramadan, Las Posadas and Kwanzaa. However, no other deity, other than Allah, was referenced in the show.
“It went off…without a hitch,” Danielle Thompson told the Indianapolis Star. “Several families thought it was a nice program.”
But others did not – especially David Hogan. His daughter came home with a copy of the lyrics just days before the production. Hogan, a Christian, told the American Family Association, a conservative advocacy group, that he was deeply concerned to learn that his daughter had been singing, “Allah is God.”
Here’s what the children were assigned to sing:
“Allah is God, we recall at dawn,
Praying ‘til night during Ramadan
At this joyful time we pray happiness for you,
Allah be with you all your life through.”

But when it came time to perform the “Christian” part of Christmas, children were assigned to say:
“I didn’t know there was a little boy at the manger. What child is this?
I’m not sure if there was a little boy or not.

I just thought if there was a little boy, I’d like to know exactly what he (sic) say.”

Micah Clark, executive director of the Indiana AFA, launched an Internet protest once he heard about the allegations. “What surprised me here is that we’ve had a secular scrubbing of Christmas for so long and the school apparently didn’t see the problem with kids singing to Allah,” he told FOX News Radio. “You won’t even mention Jesus and you’re going to force my child to sing about Allah?”
In email correspondence the school initially defended the reference as a way to be inclusive of all religions. However, once complaints starting rolling in, school leaders decided to eliminate the Allah reference.
That drew the ire of the Muslim Alliance of Indiana. “It’s unfortunate if that was removed from the program just because of Islamophobic feelings,” Shariq Siddiqui told the Indianapolis Star. “Schools are a place where we should learn more about each other rather than exclude each other based on stereotypes and misconceptions.”
But Clark said having children bow and pray is problematic for non-Muslim families. “(This show) affirmed Islam and negated Christianity. I wouldn’t have had a problem if it had been equal to all faiths.”
At least one Christian family approved of the Allah reference. “I’m a Christian and I was in no way offended by the program at Lantern Road,” said Judy Grasso to The Star.
